Step 1: Signing the contract
Documentation of rights, obligations, guarantees between Stork Service center and the biological parents
After receiving all necessary consultations and confirming the willingness to participate in the surrogacy program, future parents sign a cooperation agreement with the center, which stipulates the obligations of the parties and the requirements of the couple for the chosen type of services. Based on the signed agreement, a package of services is formed and their cost is determined.
In most cases, families that have made this decision already have experience in IVF and the necessary medical documents, the information of which is studied in detail before the final examination in the partner clinics of the center. For conception donor or autologous ova can be used as well as unused embryos stored in cryobank. The Stork Service center organizes their delivery to the clinic in Georgia from any country.
Stage 2. Preparatory activities
Selection of a surrogate mother, if necessary – an ova donor, medical procedures for sampling oocytes
At Stork Service center all participants of the surrogacy program are considered as members of a large family. It is very important for employees that a childless family becomes complete after the birth of a healthy child, and they are ready to do everything to realize the dream of becoming future parents.
Candidate for surrogate mothers is a physically and psychologically healthy woman who understands all the conditions of the program. She is ready to provide her services with a clear understanding of what will be necessary to give the child after birth to his biological parents. Also, the surrogate mother realizes that she has no relationship with the fetus and only delivered it.
After choosing from 2 ideal candidates for a surrogate mother, prospective parents also undergo a medical examination. At this stage, the synchronization of women’s menstrual cycles is performed. The biological mother goes through an ovarian stimulation procedure for obtaining sufficient amounts of good-quality oocyte, and the surrogate mother undergoes preparation of the uterus for embryo transfer.
Stage 3. Surrogate mother’s IVF
The process of fertilization of a surrogate mother on the basis of a reproductive clinic
Bilateral signing of an agreement between surrogate mother and biological parents is a prerequisite before IVF. As a rule, both sides are previously acquainted with the contract, so in the process of confirming the official working relationship, there are no problems. The contract specifies the method of IVF (PIKSI or ICSI), the type of donor material to be used, specifies detailing the conditions for bearing the fetus, and the amount of monetary compensation for the surrogate mother.
In the course of in vitro fertilization, ICSI is most often used as the most optimal method for male infertility and in case of obtaining a small number of oocytes. Using an inverted microscope, the sperm is implanted into the cytoplasm of the ovum with a special instrument. After fertilization the embryos are grown in the laboratory by an experienced doctor-reproductologist.
Before replanting embryos undergo special checks of PGS or PGD, allowing to choose the most viable specimens, which undoubtedly increases the chances of successful implantation and the possibility of a baby’s birth after the first IVF. The PGS test can reveal the abnormal number of chromosomes, and PGD identifies possible genetic diseases and abnormalities. Embryos are ready for replanting 3-5 days after fertilization.
Stage 4. Bearing the baby
Psychological and medical monitoring of the surrogate mother’s health and general condition, payment of compensation by the biological parents.
Reports on the completion of necessary medical checks by the surrogate mother and their results are regularly sent to the biological parents. According to the contract and the agreed upon schedule, they make payments to the surrogate for food, accommodation, clothing, vitamins, etc.
Employees of the Stork Service center regularly monitor the timeliness of the surrogate mother’s diagnostic activities, ensure all necessary medical services are obtained and complete, monitor the psychoemotional state, and oversee the observance of a healthy lifestyle.
Stage 5. Birth of a child
A surrogate mother’s delivery is organized on the basis of the perinatal centers of Georgia. Biological parents will be able to see the baby right away.
The birth of a child is an unusually exciting moment for biological parents. In order to deliver without any complications, the surrogate mother is hospitalized in the maternity ward, where she will be under reliable supervision by experienced gynecologists/obstetricians, and the newborn baby is under the care of sensitive neonatologists. A separate room is provided for future parents so that they can give their love to the child in the first moments of life.
Stage 6. Legalization of parenthood
The registration of a birth certificate with the insertion of biological parents’ data, as well as documents with which parents can lawfully take baby home are issued.
The Stork Service Center allows parents to be free from worrying about the need for paperwork so they can completely focus on the joyful feeling of overwhelming happiness associated with the child’s appearance. They will not need to visit state institutions to obtain a birth certificate and travel documents — all this will be done by the surrogacy agency.
Passing all stages of the surrogacy program with the Stork Service center guarantees the birth of a healthy baby and the organization of the return of the parents to their native country together with the child!
